“Small is beautiful, Miniature Art” is the most important European exhibition to compile the work of 34 local & international miniature artists and present 143 miniature artworks to the general public. After the undisputed success of the #MiniatureArt phenomenon on social networks, the exhibition offers exclusive access to the magical and sometimes unusual worlds of some of the greatest artists in the movement.

“Small is beautiful, Miniature Art” is an incredible journey and a unique experience that offers behind-the-scenes access to small-scale universes full of artistry and poetry, whose only limit is the creative vision of their authors.

THE NEW PHENOMENON #MINIATUREART

In recent years, many artists from all over the world have been playing with scale and introducing us to a smaller way of seeing things, and awakening our inner child. Miniature art transports us to a poetic location, from an unexpected angle, where precision is essential.

On #MiniatureArt social media, artists like Slinkachu provoke the viewer. They regularly use the element of surprise and are followed by thousands/millions of people.

ABOUT THE EXHIBITION

What will I find during the “Small Is beautiful” exhibition in London?

“Small Is Beautiful” is a unique exhibition dedicated to miniature art, which brings together 32 artists from the UK and around the world. Expect to see more than 130 artworks by miniature artists, along with over 80 photographs revolving around the same theme. There is also a video space that allows you to get a behind-the-scenes look at miniature art creation workshops, where you can observe the artists at work.

What is miniature art?

Miniature art is an art form that plays with scale and perspective. It invites us to see the world differently and brings our childhood imagination back to life. Miniature art is extremely varied. Some artists transform already existing everyday objects, whereas others prefer to create their work from scratch, often by hand and with extreme precision.

Where does the experience take place?

The exhibition takes place in the heart of London, in the district of South Kensington, 81 Old Brompton Road. A real playground of more than 1100m2 for artists coming from all over the world.

How long does the exhibition last?

The exhibition runs from April 15th, 2022 to July 15th, 2022 and is open on Tuesdays to Fridays from 10AM to 8PM (last session 7PM) and during the week-ends : from 10AM to 9PM (last session 8PM).

Are the pieces exposed in the exhibition original copies?

The exhibition features original pieces created by the artists along with limited and numbered edition photos of their work, as well as photos that are not part of a limited edition.

Is it possible to buy exposed art on site?

Most of the pieces found on display at the exhibition are for sale and will be available for purchase when the exhibition ends. You will also find an art shop, where you can buy pieces from around 40 artists, including those created by the exhibited artists. If you would like to buy a piece of original work, you can contact the staff at the shop or at the reception desk.

Will audio guides be available on site?

There are no audio guides available. On the other hand, a QR code underneath each piece will allow you to find out more about the artists exhibited and about miniature art as a movement.

Tickets are available online on Fever by clicking here, with secure payment by credit card or Paypal. It will also be possible to buy your ticket on-site at the entrance of the exhibition. Attention: cash payments are not accepted.

What is the refund policy? Change of dates of the exhibition?

Tickets are generally non-refundable. The general conditions for non-reimbursement of tickets are agreed upon prior to purchase. However, you can contact us in case of special circumstances, our team will do their best to help you. Be sure to include the order number for your tickets and keep in mind that responses sometimes take a few days!

ABOUT ACCESS TO THE EXHIBITION

Is there a ticket office on site?

Yes, you can buy your tickets on-site. However, it is better to buy your tickets on the internet in advance if you want to be sure of getting a seat at the desired time and slot.

Is the exhibition suitable for children?

The exhibition is suitable for children, especially those aged 6 and above (free for children under 6). Additionally, children's workshops (visit to the exhibition and creative workshop) are set up for families, in partnership with the Musée en Herbe. They are only accessible through prior reservation on the exhibition’s website.

Should I arrive at the time indicated on my ticket or earlier?

Please arrive at the time indicated on your ticket to avoid any crowding and in order to respect the capacity limits.

What happens if I arrive late?

We may not be able to guarantee entry if you do not show up at the time indicated on your ticket. We will therefore ask you to wait until we can accommodate you.

What are the prohibited items during the exhibition?

Please do not bring any sharp objects, helmets, strollers, electric scooters and suitcases or large bags. Please note, there is no cloakroom available in the gallery.

Can I smoke or vape during the exhibition?

It is forbidden to smoke or vape during the exhibition.

Is alcohol/food allowed during the exhibition?

It is forbidden to consume alcohol or food during the experiment. We do not offer a snack/bar/catering service, but you will find many food outlets in the area.

Are toilets available on site?

Toilets are available on site and are cleaned and disinfected regularly.
