"“Small is beautiful, Miniature Art” is the first international exhibition entirely devoted to miniature art, compiling the work of 32 international miniature artists and presenting their work to the general public. After the undisputed success of the #MiniatureArt phenomenon on social networks, the exhibition offers exclusive access to the magical and sometimes unusual worlds of some of the greatest artists in the movement.
“Small is beautiful, Miniature Art” is an incredible journey and a unique experience that offers behind-the-scenes access to small-scale universes full of artistry and poetry, whose only limit is the creative vision of their authors.
Miniature art helps us better apprehend and understand the world by reducing its scales; the artists on display in this exhibition contribute to this in a poetic way. Their tiny artworks make us laugh, feel awe-inspired, and ponder the nuances of our own regular-sized world.
Born from social networks as an independent art movement that connects international artists from all over the world, the #MiniatureArt phenomenon now takes a leap to real-life art installations. Immerse yourself in a tiny, well-detailed and curious universe, open to the public for the first time in the USA!
Some miniature pieces are too excited to be in the Big Apple for the first time! They have escaped their artworks and are now spread around the exhibit, hiding in plain sight. Get ready to experience the first tiny scavenger hunt in the world, and find the miniature pieces hidden around the exhibition. Will you find them all?
Get your hands on limited-edition artworks by the artists themselves, along with miniature DIY kits and exclusive catalogs. You can also find books, goodies, and stationery. Introducing some more miniature art creators, the shop is almost an exhibition within the exhibition.
Let the young ones discover the joy of tiny art every Sunday with creative miniature art workshops for children ages 5 to 8 and 9 to 12, offered in partnership with Private Picassos. Available for groups up to 12 children.

It was a cup of tea casting a shadow reminiscent of an elephant's silhouette that originally inspired the Belgian illustrator and director Vincent Bal to embark on what he calls 'ombrology', the art of playing with shadow and light.
Using cast shadows as the starting point for his works, he manipulates and integrates everyday objects to create stunning images.
'Looking at shadows is like looking at the clouds; what we perceive in them is projected from our own minds, kind of like in a Rorschach test.
With these few words, Vincent Bal shows us that everything is a matter of perspective. By giving life to the shadows, he immortalizes the ephemeral, giving us a chance to marvel at otherwise fleeting moments.
A visual artist and photographer, Slinkachu stages tiny characters in urban settings in London and around the world. He photographs them and then "abandons" them.
Posed, painted and glued in place by the artist, his miniature characters live their lives among urban street architecture and litter, giving spectators a new perspective on their environment by dint of scale.
His miniature street art installations aim to humorously reflect the loneliness of life in the ‘big city’, the isolation of individuals in their urban environments.
